Not content with owning one of West London’s hardest-to-book restaurants, Dorian, or popular sushi spot Tuna Fight Club, the team responsible for both restaurants are now preparing to open a sushi restaurant in Notting Hill.
Eel Restaurant operates out of an antique shop on Talbot Road. We know very little about the restaurant, except that it will be a 10-seater restaurant that they claim will serve traditional sushi without “all that omakase and ponce nonsense”. The chef running Eel is Nicky (formerly of Dinings) and it will be a 24/7, walk-in type of restaurant.
As for the wine, they promise to share the same wine list as Dorian, which, in their words, “will instantly make it the best wine list of any sushi restaurant in the world”. It’s unclear, however, whether Dorian’s infamous £100 corkage fee will come into effect at this sushi restaurant.
It all sounds optimistic, but given their track record, we predict this will be an attractive new spot for the area’s wealthy residents to try.
