For over a year, Humble Chicken’s Angelo Sato has been the Food and Beverage Director at Artesian, one of London’s top bars, The Langham. However, as he focused on his pursuit of a third Michelin star, a change was needed. They hired someone just as brilliant, Chet Sharma of Mayfair hotspot Bibi.
It’s all part of Artesian’s new menu, Ultimo, the third in a series of cocktail menus created by head bartender Giulia Cuccurullo. There are 16 new cocktails on the menu, with sustainability and innovation at the forefront of their minds. Specifically, the cocktails include:
Parsnip – a variation on the Espresso Martini with a hint of parsnip (Grey Goose, Metaxa 12 Stars, Amaro Lucano, Parsnip, Coffee and Butter).
Apple – Champagne cocktails inspired by apple crisp flavours (Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Courvoisier VSOP, Disaronno, Apple and Perrier-Jouët)
As for Chet Sharma’s culinary offering, he will be launching a range of “premium bar snacks” to pair with the drinks. The snacks will follow the modern Indian style of his restaurant BiBi. On his menu you’ll find snacks like aged N25 caviar with coconut Shakargandi dosa and Kasoori Methi chicken pakora, as well as:
Wookey Hole Cheese Crispbread with green chutney
Avocado Cucumber Jhal Muri – avocado tartare, roasted peanuts, jalapeno sauce
Lamb Cutlets, Pickled Chilli Butter – naan stuffed with masala-spiced lamb shoulder
Stilton Malai Kofta – crispy blue cheese fried dumplings with mango chutney
Tamarind Miso Roast Pork or Eggplant Kebabs with Crispy Rice
Artesian is a great bar and a great place to start if you haven’t tried Chet Sharma’s food yet.
