Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines is preparing to open his first restaurant in London, marking a major step in his celebrated career. While Caines has earned one Michelin star for Lympstone Manor and two for his work at Gidleigh Park, this will be his debut in the capital’s dining scene.
Culinary Leadership at The Stafford London
The move comes as part of a new partnership with The Stafford London Hotel in Mayfair, where Caines will take on the role of culinary strategist. According to the hotel’s official website, he will oversee all food and beverage operations at the property.
This development follows the Stafford Group’s acquisition of Lympstone Manor, a key move that has brought Caines into the fold. The arrangement mirrors a previous collaboration the hotel had with Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen, who recently departed to lead food and beverage at The Beaumont Hotel.
A Fresh Start for The Game Bird
As part of his new role, Caines will head the main restaurant at The Stafford, which is currently known as The Game Bird. The restaurant, originally launched nearly ten years ago, will reopen under a new name this autumn. Although specific details remain under wraps, the team promises “an elegant dining journey that celebrates the essence of British cuisine.”
More Updates Coming Soon
With the reopening scheduled for later this year, further announcements about Chef Michael Caines’ vision and menu are expected in the coming months. Diners and fans of British fine dining can look forward to a refined, modern culinary experience in the heart of Mayfair.
