Tokyo-born bartender Gento Torigata is making waves in the UK with the opening of his new bar, Waltz, on Scrutton Street. After honing his skills in some of the world’s top bars in Ginza, Sydney, and Singapore, Torigata spent the last two years as the bar manager at Kwãnt in Mayfair. Now, he’s stepping out on his own to bring a fresh new concept to London’s vibrant bar scene.
Inspired by Jazz and Nature
Waltz blends the influences of jazz and nature to create a unique drinking experience. Alongside the regular drinks menu, the bar offers a special cocktail menu, exclusively available to its 12-seat patrons. This intimate setup adds a personal touch to every visit, ensuring guests enjoy something truly unique.
Creative and Intriguing Cocktails
The drinks menu at Waltz offers a variety of inventive cocktails. Among the highlights are the Matcha Old Fashioned, a bitter Gimlet made with Nikka Coffey gin, and a refreshing mix of white asparagus and fresh peas with Suntory White Vodka.
The bar’s menu extends beyond drinks to include a range of imaginative snacks and treats. These include Marmite pinwheel cakes, Tieguanyin madeleines, and homemade pickled radish, providing a delightful twist for adventurous diners.
A Bar on the Rise
