Fizz charges a flat delivery fee of just $5 and does not require users to sign up for a membership. However, a loyalty program is available. Customers can earn “Snack Bucks” with qualifying purchases to redeem on future orders.

The app is officially available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store—exclusively for users aged 21 and older. Through its partnership with Partiful, event hosts can activate group ordering directly from their event page. Even those without the Fizz app can participate by clicking a shared link in group chats or private messages.

According to Instacart Chief Product Officer Daniel Danker, Fizz is built for a different crowd. “Fizz complements Instacart’s core app, which serves busy families and individuals with weekly groceries,” he said. “This new app simplifies group orders and adds a social twist. Still, it’s powered by our proven marketplace technology, honed over the past 13 years.”
How Group Ordering Works
Each participant selects their preferred snacks and drinks, adds them to their own cart, and pays individually. This feature eliminates the need to track shared expenses or coordinate payments after the party.

Frequent users can benefit from Fizz’s optional membership program. Each drink purchase accumulates “Snack Bucks” that can be used toward future snack orders—offering a fun, rewarding twist to late-night shopping.

Survey: Most Americans Still Shop In-Store
To better understand customer habits, Instacart collaborated with Harris Poll. Their research revealed that 93% of Americans still go to a store when planning a party. Only 38% would opt for same-day snack delivery, suggesting significant room for Fizz to grow.
Generational Trends in Drink Preferences
Instacart also shared consumer insights by age group:
Gen Z prefers canned cocktails, hard seltzers, and tequila.
Millennials order 68% more IPAs than Gen Z.
Gen X leans toward red wine.
Baby Boomers favor pale lagers and unflavored vodka.
Silent Generation is more likely to choose vermouth, gin, or non-alcoholic wine.
