Every now and then, big brands launch pop-up restaurants in London that make us wonder if we’re back to April 1st. Bosch’s latest idea is exactly what we were looking for, with a restaurant where you can eat on the floor. No, really.
The pop-up is run by Gok Wan (he’s flipping the calendar again) and is called Floors, of course. It’s all about their upcoming new vacuum cleaner, the idea being that it can clean your floors so well you can eat from them. They’ve clearly never seen our floors. We’re told there will be no tables, no plates or traditional seating, just a tasting menu that includes:
Lychee ceviche served in a chilled oyster shell
Miso-salt dough roasted vegetables with charcoal-fermented flatbread and three fusion butters
Pork steamed in lotus leaves, featuring black bean and pepper beef, duck and oyster mushrooms
I guess we should be thankful they don’t offer soup.
But, honestly, as crazy as it sounds, we’ll give it a try. If you want to try it, it only costs £10, which will go to charity.
