Michelin-starred chef Tom Kitchin, owner of renowned fine-dining restaurant The Kitchin in Edinburgh, has teamed up with discount retailer Home Bargains to launch a new range of frozen ready meals.
The new business joins Kitchin in a growing list of high-profile chefs who have set their sights on the frozen food market. In recent years, celebrity chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and Gino D’Acampo have all launched their own frozen food ranges as demand for convenient, quality food grows.
The trend reflects a shift in the way households source prepared food, with more consumers seeking food that combines convenience with culinary credibility.
The exclusive range includes four ready meals, created with input from Kitchin and inspired by his own dishes.
Tom Kitchin said he was “delighted” to be working with Home Bargains to deliver his favourite dishes to fridges across the country.
He added:
We work tirelessly to ensure that every meal offers the same high-quality experience you expect in a restaurant, but with the convenience of cooking at home. ”
The new range includes:
Al Forno Lasagna – Made with British minced beef, Italian Chianti wine, Grana Padano and aged cheddar, priced at £2.99.
Cottage Pie – A combination of slow-cooked British steak and mince, vegetables and mashed potatoes, topped with aged cheddar (£2.99).
Spaghetti Carbonara – Features smoked pancetta, Grana Padano and a creamy sauce made with aged cheddar (£2.99).
Steak Pie (2 pack) – A hearty beef pie with slow-cooked British steak and ale (£2.89).
A spokesperson for Home Bargains said:
We are proud to be working with Tom Kitchin to bring restaurant-quality gourmet food to consumers in a convenient frozen format. This partnership reflects our shared passion for food innovation and excellence.
The exclusive range is currently available in major Home Bargains stores across the UK.
