Some of the most interesting restaurants have slowly been opening up around Kensington High Street Station. We recently came across the fantastic Krokodilos, and now Bancone has chosen to open a fourth branch here.
If you’re not familiar with Bancone, it’s all about fresh, delicious pasta (the original is still a Michelin Bib Gourmand), and there’s usually a lot of bar dining. Signature dishes are the silk handkerchief with walnut sauce and confit egg yolk (there’s also a carbonara version), and the ravioli with smoked potatoes, seasonal truffles, and egg yolk. There are also some new dishes created just for Kensington:
Palourde clams with n’duja and toasted bread
Confit tomato, gnocchi, lentils, pickled peppers
Monkfish with saffron mayonnaise and herb salad
Rhubarb, almond cake, white chocolate, lemon verbena
So if you’re looking for a reliable (and affordable) pasta place in Kensington, this is a great place to go.
