Brillo Turns Forno Into A Nighttime Pizza & Wine Bar

by Ella

In Hackney, Forno (founded by Ombra founder Mitshel Ibrahim) has already done some impressive things in the pastry world. Now they’re trying something different in the evenings with Brillo.

Brillo will take over the Forno space every Friday, turning it into “a listening bar of sorts”. Every Friday, they’ll be baking pizzas in the oven and launching a wine list that’s focused on natural wines – a selection from well-known wineries and low-intervention growers. Previous Forno pizzas have included stracciatella, n’duja and basil, as shown here, or anchovies and courgette flowers, so expect similar surprises this time around.

To complement the pizzas and wines, there’s also a new hi-fi sound system. Heading up the sound system are a host of great DJs hand-picked by Forno’s friends in the music industry. Ruby Francis will open on the first night, with Baby Monet, DJ Tunesmith and Karl Bos also set to perform in the coming weeks. It’s all about imitating a Japanese pub, so if you’re looking for something new in Hackney and fancy pairing your wine with a good pizza, this is definitely worth a try.
