Angelina has been a huge success in Dalston, and while their other restaurant Dai Chi didn’t make it in Soho, they’re sticking with what they do best in the City with a second Angelina restaurant.
Called Osteria Angelina, it will be located in the Nolton Folgate development near Shoreditch station, where Kolamba East previously opened and Noisy Oyster is about to open, so it’s got quite a menu. Osteria Angelina itself will retain the same flair as the Dalston original, fusing Italian and Japanese cuisine.
First up, their signature dish is their ‘fresh pasta with a Japanese twist’, which will feature eight courses on the menu and change regularly. Then there’s the grill, where they’ll grill huge cuts of seafood and meat over a Binchotan charcoal grill. The restaurant will also be serving up their own version of ‘Gran Bollito Misto’ (a poached meat dish from the Piedmont region), which will be served tableside from a food trolley (we love the food trolley action). We’ll have more menu details closer to the opening.
As for the interior, everything is arranged around an open kitchen (with counter seating) so you can watch the pasta being made. For drinks, the store will offer more than 300 Italian wines and a rich selection of sake.
