Nobu’s First Hotel and Restaurant in Egypt at Eastown District New Cairo (EDNC)

SODIC, a leading real estate developer in Egypt, has partnered with the internationally recognized architecture and design firm Rockwell Group to create the first-ever Nobu hotel and restaurant in Egypt. Located at Eastown District New Cairo (EDNC), the restaurant is scheduled to open in Autumn 2025, followed by the hotel in early 2027.

A Unique Blend of Japanese and Egyptian Design

Rockwell Group is known for its innovative designs and has previously designed several Nobu locations worldwide. For Nobu New Cairo, the design will fuse Japanese minimalism with Egyptian cultural elements, creating a unique and luxurious experience. The design will be inspired by Egypt’s deserts, pyramids, and intricate craftsmanship, incorporating natural materials and geometric patterns that highlight both Japanese and Egyptian art forms.

Nobu Restaurant: A World-Class Dining Experience

The Nobu New Cairo restaurant will cover 2,200m² and accommodate up to 300 guests. The restaurant’s design will include dramatic double-height walls, bonsai trees, and lush greenery. A limestone sushi bar will take center stage, providing an intimate yet grand atmosphere. The space will feature a glowing sculpture and intricate backlit mashrabiya patterns, alongside a mirrored ceiling. The first floor will offer an exclusive cigar lounge, a feature bar, and a private dining area, perfect for events and exclusive gatherings.

Nobu Hotel: A New Standard in Luxury Hospitality

The Nobu Hotel will span 6,385m² and include over 50 luxury guest rooms and suites, blending contemporary style with Japanese-inspired aesthetics. The hotel will offer world-class amenities such as a serene pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a rejuvenating spa. The design will also feature versatile multipurpose spaces, ensuring both comfort and functionality for every guest.

Exciting Future Plans for Nobu in Egypt

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Rockwell Group on this landmark project,” said Ayman Amer, General Manager of SODIC. “This partnership reflects our commitment to expanding in the luxury market, and we are excited to offer an unparalleled hospitality experience.”

David Rockwell, Founder and President of Rockwell Group, added, “Designing Nobu New Cairo allows us to blend Japanese design with Egypt’s vast landscapes and intricate crafts. We are excited to create an immersive and luxurious experience in New Cairo.”

A Crown Jewel in Eastown District

The Nobu New Cairo restaurant will be a standout feature in Eastown District, which already boasts a vibrant mix of high-end retail, dining, and entertainment options. In the coming years, Nobu will also expand into SODIC’s Ogami development on Egypt’s North Coast, as well as The Estates Residences in New Zayed.
