The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets has officially launched the first-ever Long Island Seafood Cuisine Trail. This new initiative aims to highlight the region’s seafood, aquaculture, and small businesses, while also attracting tourists to the area.
Promoting Local Seafood from Bay Shore to Montauk
The Long Island Seafood Cuisine Trail features 20 locations along the South Shore, from Bay Shore to Montauk. The trail focuses on New York’s seafood industry, driving visitors to spots that serve and sell locally harvested fish and shellfish. This initiative is designed to boost both the seafood and tourism industries in the region.
The trail is part of the State’s Blue Food Transformation initiative, which was first introduced in Governor Kathy Hochul’s 2024 State of the State proposal.
Ribbon Cutting at The Snapper Inn
The official ribbon cutting for the Long Island Seafood Cuisine Trail took place on March 19 at The Snapper Inn in Oakdale, marking the launch of this exciting new venture aimed at celebrating and promoting Long Island’s seafood offerings.
