FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Moo-Over, a popular dessert shop known for its plant-based, gluten-free treats, is set to relocate its storefront from Columbia City to Fort Wayne. The move, which was announced on Facebook Tuesday, marks an exciting new chapter for the company.

Moo-Over, which has gained recognition for its vegan ice cream, made headlines in October 2023 when owner Julie Hurd told WANE 15 that it is the only dessert shop in Indiana to offer a menu exclusively made up of vegan and gluten-free options. The shop was also featured on the show America’s Best Restaurants, which highlights must-visit eateries across the country.

New Location to Offer More Space and Features

While an exact opening date and the new location have not yet been disclosed, the Fort Wayne spot is expected to offer more space, additional menu items, and improved parking, according to the company’s Facebook announcement.

The post also expressed gratitude to the Columbia City community, with the team writing, “We’re so grateful for the love and support from our amazing community, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our new home.”

Community Impact and Future Plans

Although Moo-Over is leaving Columbia City, it emphasized that the decision wasn’t made lightly. The move aims to ensure the business’s long-term sustainability.

Moo-Over plans to continue engaging with the Columbia City community through pop-up events, special orders, and future collaborations. Additionally, the dessert shop will host a grand reopening ceremony once it officially opens in Fort Wayne.
