From creative bakeries to innovative eateries, here’s a preview of five of the most anticipated restaurant openings in Seattle this spring.
1. Kemi Dessert Bar

Kemi Dessert Bar has already built a reputation for its popular pop-ups, bringing Asian-inspired twists to classic treats. Think mango sticky rice Rice Krispie treats and black sesame chocolate gateaus. Kelly Miao, the owner, honed her skills at New York’s renowned Dominique Ansel Bakery before moving to Seattle in 2023. Her creativity promises to make Kemi a sweet stop for dessert lovers in Capitol Hill.
2. Mirabelle by Orphée

Orphee Fouano, a young chef with a distinguished career, is opening Mirabelle, a bakery-café offering sandwiches, pastries, and imported pantry items. Fouano has worked at top restaurants like Palace Park Hyatt Vendome and Palace Plaza Athenee with Alain Ducasse. Mirabelle’s offerings will be made with French flour and other premium ingredients, giving Seattleites a taste of authentic French fare. The opening has been slightly delayed due to customs issues with flour shipments, but this is one to watch.
3. La Loba

4. Wayland Mill

Yasuaki Saito, the mastermind behind Saint Bread bakery and Post Alley and Tivoli pizzerias, is adding another gem to his portfolio with Wayland Mill. 5. Amin

Amin, the upcoming halal walk-up window from chef Tarik Abdullah, is drawing attention for its unique offerings and community-driven ethos.
