Bar Becky, the Italian-American restaurant opened by Southern California native and “Hell’s Kitchen” finalist Jonathan Benvenuti, will participate in the 10th annual Dine Out Long Beach event, taking place from February 18 to February 25, 2025.
The event aims to support local eateries, with 10% of the sales from participating restaurants going to Restaurants Care, a nonprofit organization offering relief to food industry workers affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.
A Family Affair
At Bar Becky, Jonathan’s older brother Anthony Benvenuti ensures smooth operations front-of-house. Jonathan, now the executive chef at Bar Becky, gained fame as a finalist on the 22nd season of Gordon Ramsay’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” which helped put him on the culinary map. Anthony proudly shared on social media, “Hell’s Kitchen may have put him on the map, but this is just the beginning.”
The restaurant, which opened in 2024, is named after the Benvenuti family matriarch, Becky Benvenuti. In her honor, a photo of Becky and her handwritten recipes are displayed at the hostess station, showcasing the family’s deep culinary roots.
The Heart of Bar Becky’s Menu
Many of the dishes on the menu, including carrots with a maple glaze, pork Milanese, and lamb stroganoff, come from Becky’s cherished recipe box. The ambiance is rooted in family, with a painting of Italy from the Benvenuti family’s grandparents’ home proudly hung above the bar.
Bar Becky was born out of a series of successful pop-ups and serves as a celebration of both family and Italian-American cuisine. The restaurant was launched in partnership with Jason Scarborough, a Michelin-star restaurant veteran and sommelier, who also oversees the beverage program at Bar Becky. His cocktail menu blends artistry and flavor, providing a unique complement to the menu.
Valentine’s Day at Bar Becky
For Valentine’s weekend, Bar Becky is offering a seven-course prix fixe menu from February 13 to February 15, priced at $125 per person. A limited à la carte dinner menu will also be available for guests seeking alternative options.
