Longboat Key Foodie Festival to Support Hurricane Recovery

by Ella

The Taste and Tunes of the Keys, scheduled for February 27, will offer a preview of the culinary delights at the newly opened Cirque St. Armands Beachside resort and restaurant. With its circus-inspired aesthetic and focus on local history, Cirque St. Armands is making waves in the area. However, attendees can enjoy a taste of its offerings at this year’s festival.

The event is hosted by the Longboat Key Garden Club and will feature food from 11 local restaurants, accompanied by live music from The Klick Band. Known for their lively performances of 60s hits and beyond, The Klick Band is a crowd favorite at the Sarasota Yacht Club and promises to keep the atmosphere vibrant and energetic.

Funds to Aid Longboat Key’s Hurricane Recovery

This year, proceeds from the event will be directed toward the community’s hurricane recovery efforts. Lyn Haycock, Vice President of the Garden Club, shared that funds will specifically help restore the town’s parks, landscaping, and public spaces, as well as provide grants for local non-profits working to rebuild.

“The island looks devastated, which it does,” Haycock said. “We want to give back not just through money, but by physically planting and helping when the town needs us.”

For those unable to attend the event but wishing to contribute, the Garden Club offers the option to donate directly via its website.

New Silent Auction and Food Focus for 2025

In addition to the food and music, a new online silent auction will feature new items daily, starting February 10 at 3 p.m. Bidding continues until the event, providing another way to support the cause.

This year marks the second time the event has shifted its focus from a fashion show to a celebration of food and music, with a special emphasis on fresh, in-season fare. Haycock explained, “It’s going to be a fun evening of enjoying local food and spending time with friends.”

Tickets Available for Purchase

Tickets for the event are available online for $90 (general admission) or $100 (with guaranteed seating). Admission includes all food samples and two drink vouchers.

This festival offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy delicious food, lively music, and contribute to the recovery efforts in Longboat Key.
