Food enthusiasts in Dubai are in for a treat as Daddy Cool’s Kitchen opens its doors on February 6th, 2025. The new culinary venture is the brainchild of Ibrahim Kattan, the charismatic star of Netflix’s Dubai Bling, also known as “Daddy Cool.” He has teamed up with his daughter Mona Kattan and Kitopi to bring this bold restaurant concept to life.
A Name That Stuck
The name “Daddy Cool” has a personal touch. Ibrahim explains, “The nickname came from my daughter Mona. Her friends used to say, ‘Your dad is too cool to be just a normal dad, he’s a cool dad!’ And it stuck.” Mona shares her pride for her father, calling him “inspiring” as he embarks on this new journey at the age of 80. She’s eager for the world to experience the magic of Daddy Cool’s Kitchen.
A Lifelong Passion for Cooking
Cooking has always been a central part of Ibrahim’s life. He fondly recalls, “One of my most cherished memories is watching my mother cook in our kitchen in Baghdad, never measuring, just cooking with instinct and love.” Ibrahim’s passion for food began out of necessity when he left Baghdad at 18 to study in Belgrade, Serbia. Faced with a tight budget and far from home, he started cooking with creativity and love, drawing from the flavors he remembered from his mother’s kitchen.
“I’ve always believed in cooking from the heart. Food is not just about following a recipe. It’s about creating something from the soul,” Ibrahim explains.
Reimagining Iraqi Classics
Daddy Cool’s Kitchen brings a fresh twist to traditional Iraqi dishes. The menu celebrates bold flavors and familiar favorites, reimagined with Ibrahim’s creative flair. Signature dishes include Iraqi Dolma, a cherished dish that represents the heart of Iraqi cuisine. Other highlights include Tepsi Bethenjan, Biryani, Stew of Okra, Samak-Masgouf, and Pacha.
Ibrahim’s love for dolma is evident: “Without a doubt, my favorite dish, both to eat and to cook, is dolma in the Iraqi style. It represents everything I love about food: warmth, tradition, creativity, and sharing.”
A Global Culinary Journey
A lifelong traveler, Ibrahim has lived in countries like Serbia, Russia, the U.S., the UK, and the Gulf. Daddy Cool’s Kitchen reflects this global journey with a fusion of flavors from around the world, combining time-honored Iraqi traditions with bold, creative touches.
“We’re creating food that tells a story,” Ibrahim says, offering diners a flavorful experience inspired by his travels.
The Launch and Future Plans
Starting February 6th, Daddy Cool’s Kitchen will be available for dine-in at Dubai Hill’s Eatopi. The dishes will also be available for delivery via Deliveroo and Talabat. With the support of Kitopi, this culinary venture brings vibrant Iraqi flavors straight to your door.
For Ibrahim, Daddy Cool’s Kitchen is a deeply personal project. “I love making sure everyone is well-fed, happy, and taken care of. That’s the heart behind Daddy Cool’s Kitchen. At the end of the day, food isn’t just nutrition, it’s comfort, it’s community, and it’s love,” he says.
With a passion for food, a deep love for tradition, and a bold twist on Iraqi classics, Daddy Cool’s Kitchen promises to be an unforgettable dining experience.
